![]() They might just be IT assholes who overreach because they can. The full details all together sound a bit off though. ![]() Did they run anything that looked like a command line that said "KMS Activator" in it (that is a fake license server for illegitimate Office copies.ĪnyDesk by itself is a reasonable way to do support remotely. Why do they want access to a box that has all of your other passwords, corporate or not? Also, is that Office legit? Installing Office on everyone's PC is expensive, especially if they are giving you a laptop later. One thing that does concern me is you say they upgraded your LastPass. If they let you turn AnyDesk off when their help desk doesn't need to do something, you can do that too. If you are forced to use it, Any desk has a setting to prompt you if someone tries to connect, make sure that is on. Install it in a VM and let them watch nothing if you want/need to keep your job. If it is "during work hours so we can watch you like a panopticon" then no, that's not ok. If "just for support" is their policy, that sounds reasonable to me. For what it's worth, I use AnyDesk all the time, and it is how I support my parents remotely. It is possible they just want to control your machine to get up to corporate spec, and then after that, they would only need to use it if there is a problem. ![]() I don't have an Apple account, so it failed. It is better than TeamViewere which had a breach, and I actually watched it try to buy an Apple Store Card via keystroke macro when someone used my credentials to get in. AnyDesk is just a tool for screen sharing and remote control and, of tools like that, it isn't a bad one. ![]()
